Brain Health Support Program Intervention
About the study
NB-PALM is one of seven research teams participating in the national study, Canadian Therapeutic Platform Trial for Multidomain Interventions to Prevent Dementia: Brain Health Support Program Intervention (CAN-Thumbs Up).
The 12-month study includes testing a new educational program called Brain Health Support Program (BHPro). The program aims to teach older adults about dementia risk factors. It will provide the best evidence for lifestyle changes that may help lower dementia risk, including exercise, nutrition, sleep, and social and psychological health. Participation in this study, including assessments and tasks, is completed entirely online.
Over 300 Canadians between the ages of 60 and 85 enrolled in the program, including 60 participants from New Brunswick. NB-PALM is the only site to offer the study in English and French.
